About Minecraft

Minecraft is a 3D video game created by the company Mojang in 2009. I have been playing Minecraft for a while now. The game costs money, but I think it's totally worth it, because the graphics are great, there are no ads, and the game is really fun. There is no actual goal in the game that you HAVE to get, so you can do whatever you want. This game is about building and surviving in a world shown as square blocks. There are two game modes: survival and creative. In survival mode, you have a health bar and a hunger bar, and you have to find food and resources to survive. In creative mode, you unlimited health and you can fly. You don't need to eat, either. You can get any block you want without resources, and you can break any block very easily. Here are a few tips for newbie players on how to survive in survival mode.

Tip No.1-Get a Bed!
In Minecraft, dangerous monsters spawn in the night, such as zombies, creepers and skeleton archers, so it would be a good idea to get a bed. Why? Because, in Minecraft, you can skip to dawn by sleeping in a bed, and that would be useful because zombies and skeleton archers burn in sunlight. Beds require three wooden planks and three pieces of wool. Before you can craft a bed, though, you need to have a crafting table, because you can only craft items that take up to four resources(not lying horizontally) to bulid. With a crafting table, you can craft all items. You can get wool by killing sheep, which is easy because sheep are passive mobs(animals), meaning they don't attack. You can get some wooden planks by mining one wood, because one piece of wood can be turned into four wooden planks.

Tip No.2-Make some tools!
Now that you already have a crafting table, you should craft some tools. Tools include pickaxes, hoes, swords, axes and shovels. Tools can help you break substances much more efficiently. You should start by making a simple wooden sword so that you can hunt animals and defend yourself from monsters. A wooden sword only takes two wooden planks and a stick to craft. After creating a sword, you can craft mire tools such as axes and pickaxes. These will help you chop down trees and mine ore. You won't really need hoes and shovels for now, though.

Tip No.3-Make a Shelter!
After crafting a bed and some tools, you should still have some daylight time left. You can use this time to build a simple shelter that you can hide in. For the first day, I would recommend a dirt hut or a cave base. You can build a dirt hut by quickly mining some dirt and building a simple little hut. The reason I recommend a dirt hut is that dirt is very easy to find, and you can mine it pretty quick. If you don't want a dirt hut, you can try a cave base. To build a cave base, you have to find a cave first. A small, wide cave that isn't too far underground is the most suitable kind of cave, because a huge, underground network of caves can contain monsters, and you could get lost easily. The point of a cave base is that you don't have to build it yourself, because a cave already has a sort of room. All you need to do is build a single small wall. Another reason I recommend cave bases is because they are slightly sturdier than wooden bases. Why is that? Because, most caves are made of cobblestone inside, and cobblestone is about ten times stronger than dirt. Also, cave bases are very efficient for mining, because you don't have to find a cave to start mining in, you can mine right in your base! Both these starter shelters are equally useful, even though I would prefer a cave base. Wooden tree houses, mountain bases and underground shelters are also good bases, just a bit more complicated.

Tip No.4-Build a Furnace!
A furnace is a useful item in Minecraft, because one can smelt ingots and cook foods.  A furnace is fairly easy to craft; it only takes nine pieces of cobblestone. After crafting a furnace, you need some kind of fuel to work it. You can use wooden items and tools, charcoal or coal to light a furnace. You can put raw meat, fish or vegetables in a furnace to cook it. Cooked foods will give you more food than raw foods. You can put sand in a furnace to make glass, and ore in a furnace to smelt ingots.
You can put wood in a furnace and burn it to create charcoal, which you can use as fuel in your furnace or use to make torches if you can't find coal.

Tip No.5-Mine Some Ores!
If you think stone tools and wooden tools are too weak, you should start mining for ore, not just to get better weapons but to make stronger armor than leather. You can mine just about anywhere, but I recommend caves because you can start right away without having to make a good starting point. Your'e bound to hit a few veins of coal or iron if you just mine in a random cave, but you need to mine at certain places if you want to find valuable ores like gold, emerald, diamond and lapis lazuli.
You can turn ores into ingots by smelting them in your furnace. You can then use these ores to craft items. Emerald ore, though can only be used to trade with villagers.

Tip No. 6-Find a Guard!
You are probably already decently good at fighting by now, but you might wast some help. Dogs and iron golems are both good bodyguards. A dog, in my opinion, is easier to get than an iron golem. All you need to do is find a wild wolf and tame it

  1. I have a question: are those two tips helpful in survival mode, or creative mode, or both?
